A new fan of yams

The hubby and I are both late converts to liking the sweet potato slash yam.  Late as in maybe a month ago.  I know, I know…sacrilegious! especially for a girl that grew up with hippie parents (maybe that was the problem?)  Anyway.  We’ve been eating them as baked fries with salt, pepper and cumin, and today we tried a recipe we saw on the Cooking Channel on Spice Goddess (ha – how’s that for hippie?), called Crispy Sweet Potato Cakes and they were delicious.

Served with some yogurt and some ho-made mango chutney.  Yum!
